New residential customers

Credit approval and a monthly monitoring agreement are required. For homeowners with approved credit, a minimum equipment investment of $499 and additional equipment may be paid in installments over 39 months at a 0% annual percentage rate through the CPI SmartPay® program. CPI SmartPay® requires a monthly monitoring agreement coterminous with the applicable installment term. Depending on the monitoring package chosen, CPI will take over up to 20 pre-wired functioning contacts of an existing system using CPI’s hard-wired system. A minimum equipment investment of $549 applies to takeovers. Applicable sales and use tax apply. Other restrictions may apply.

Free professional installation

Proof of homeownership or verified permission letter signed by property owner or manager required prior to installation. Installation fees may apply for additional exterior cameras. Installation of a keyless door lock may require a locksmith.

Warranties

Systems with inTouch® monitoring include CPI’s Service Plus Program. Basic Security includes CPI’s Basic Warranty Program.

Cellular Communication and inTouch® Services

We may share your personal information with corporate affiliates to carry out transactions you request or to make our business or that of our corporate affiliates more responsive to your needs. We may also disclose your personal information in connection with law enforcement, fraud prevention, or other legal action; as required by law or regulation; or if CPI reasonably believes it is necessary to protect CPI, its customers, or the public. In addition, we may share your personal information with business partners that help CPI carry out transactions you request or that help CPI to customize, analyze, and/or improve our communication or relationship with you, and then only with business partners who share CPI’s commitment to protecting your personal information. Except as described above, we will not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes unless you have provided consent.

Video

Our inTouch® Security with video monitoring supports up to four cameras. Additional monthly monitoring fees may apply beyond four cameras. Your first camera requires a minimum of 650Kbps of upload speed. Each additional camera requires an additional 250Kbps of upload speed. The inTouch® Doorbell Camera and inTouch® 180 Indoor Camera require a minimum of 2Mbps of upload speed.

Builder Program Home Automation Only Service Terms & Conditions

Service is provided on a monthly basis. You or CPI may cancel at any time. CPI may require written documentation to confirm cancellation. CPI reserves the right to increase service charges upon prior notice to you and to pass through to you any third-party charges. You are responsible for all applicable taxes. First month’s service may be pro-rated. Payments are non-refundable. Service and all equipment is provided “as is”. CPI specifically disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. CPI is not responsible for any defects or failure of the service or any of the equipment. CPI will not be liable to you in any case for any indirect, incidental, punitive, speculative, or consequential damages. You warrant that you own or otherwise have full right of occupancy to your service address. To the extent CPI visits or conducts any work in your home, such as for installation or replacement of equipment, you understand that it is your responsibility to ensure access to your premises, a safe environment, and any underlying requirements such as appropriate electrical power. CPI is not responsible for any injury or damage caused to property, even if attributable CPI’s own acts or omissions. You assume all risk, including without limitation those relating to the service, the equipment and your property. You agree that CPI may collect data in connection with your service and that CPI owns all video/audio content. CPI may use data for any purpose not prohibited by law or CPI’s privacy policy found on CPI’s website. You agree that CPI may contact you by phone, text message, email, or by other contact information on file with CPI for purposes relating to services and to market to you. You have the right to opt out of receiving sales communications from us by emailing us at contracts@cpisecurity.com. You cannot opt out of calls related to the operation of services. Both you and CPI each agree to resolve any disputes exclusively through individual, binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association consumer arbitration rules and procedures in effect when a claim is filed. Your Agreement with CPI does not replace or supersede any agreement you may have with CPI or any third-party in connection with the services, including terms and conditions relating to your InTouch application. Your Agreement with CPI will be governed by North Carolina law and to the extent any court action is brought, such action will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

No False Alarm Guarantee

Applies to fines accrued due to system malfunction or an error on CPI’s part. It does not cover user error, negligence, or Acts of God. The customer will be required to provide a copy of the alarm fine. CPI will credit the customer’s CPI account for the amount of the alarm fine, the customer is responsible for making restitution for the fine directly. No False Alarm Guarantee only applies to customers with the Real Time Response℠ system. Non-registered or permit fines are not covered.

Homeowners Insurance Discounts

Discounts for homeowner’s insurance are customarily given for alarm systems that monitor for intrusion and fire and will vary by the insurance company. Contact your insurance company for specific details.

Billing

Quoted monitoring rates require monthly ACH Draft or annual billing with initial amounts paid upfront.

These SMS/Text Messaging Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of and participation in the SMS/text messaging program (“SMS Program”) offered by CPI Security Systems, Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By enrolling in or using the SMS Program, you agree to these Terms and our SMS Privacy Policy.

Program Description

By opting into our SMS Program, you agree to receive recurring text messages from CPI Security Systems, Inc. including:

  • Transactional messages: account alerts, order updates, appointment reminders, shipping notifications, security verifications, and other service-related messages.
  • Marketing messages: promotional offers, new product announcements, and other advertising content only if you have provided express written consent as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”).

Message frequency varies and may depend on your interactions with us.

Consent & Opt-In Requirements

By providing your mobile number and opting in, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are providing express written consent to receive automated and non-automated text messages from CPI Security Systems, Inc. at the number you provide.
  • Consent is not a condition of purchase.
  • You are the owner or authorized user of the mobile phone number used to opt in.
  • You are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

    • STOP — to unsubscribe from all marketing SMS messages
    • HELP — to receive customer support information

    After texting STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message indicating that your request has been processed. You may continue to receive necessary transactional messages if required for your services.

    Message Frequency & Costs

    • Message frequency may vary based on your interactions and preferences.
    • Standard message and data rates may apply.
    • You are responsible for charges assessed by your wireless carrier.
    • Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

    User Responsibilities

    You agree to:

    • Provide accurate and valid mobile numbers.
    • Keep your contact information current.
    • Notify us immediately if your number is reassigned, ported, or no longer in your control.

    Failure to comply may result in unauthorized messages being sent to others, and you may be responsible for any harm caused.

    Eligibility

    The SMS Program is intended only for residents of the United States who:

    • Are 18 years of age or older
    • Have an active mobile number with a participating wireless carrier

    The program may not be available in all geographic areas.

    Privacy & Data Use

    Your participation in the SMS Program is subject to our SMS Privacy Policy, which explains:

    • What data we collect
    • How it is used
    • How it is protected
    • Your rights and choices

    We do not sell or share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

    Program Termination or Suspension

    We reserve the right to:

    • Modify or terminate the SMS Program at any time
    • Suspend message delivery
    • Remove subscribers who violate these Terms
    • Restrict access for any reason permitted by law

    We will provide notice where required.

    Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

    • The SMS Program is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
    • We do not guarantee message delivery, timeliness, or accuracy.
    • Wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from or relating to your participation in the SMS Program.

     

    Dispute Resolution

    Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the SMS Program shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in accordance with the rules of the selected arbitration service. The arbitration shall be conducted on an individual, and not a class or collective, basis. The arbitrator shall have no authority to consolidate arbitrations. The arbitration shall be subject to the Federal Arbitration Act. These terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without giving effect to conflicts of law principles.
    By participating, you waive your right to bring claims in court or participate in class actions, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

    Changes to These Terms

    We may update these Terms at any time.
    Changes will be posted on our website with an updated “Last Updated” date.
    Your continued participation after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
